Should we post photographs and videos of bad behaviour on the internet?

I personally feel that we should post photographs and videos of bad behaviour on the internet. It will help us point out the other side of the society so that the society will be aware of the bad behaviour its people display in the public. Most of the time, the members of a society does not know the general attitude they show in the public. Therefore, they will know what others think of them and be more self conscious when they are in the public when information of them acting rudely in the public can be found on the internet for them to see. For instance, one might not be conscious of the behaviour of the society they are in. However, when videos of Singaporeans pretending to sleep on the train when a pregnant woman is on board the same carriage is shown, he or she will then know more about his or her own society. Thus, the photographs and videos serves as constant reminders for people to act in a proper way.

There should still be a limit to this because it might bring harm to people in some ways that we do not know or do not mean to. When we post these visuals, we must be careful not to hurt the innocent people that happens to be in the photos or videos that we took. Therefore, we should take a little effort to sensor the faces of the people in the photos or videos except for some of the facial features that is crucial for us to prove our point.

People might say that this is public shaming or that it damages peoples reputation, but if the people of the public are afraid of public shaming or their reputations being damaged, why would they do these inconsiderate things that actually does exactly just that to them? If they were afraid of their reputations being damaged, they should not have done this in the first place. People who care about their reputation would not have been so careless as to do such things to damage their reputation. So the people captured in the photos or videos deserves their punishment. If we do not make the society into one of surveillance, these people will not change.

Therefore, my point is that we should post photographs and videos of bad behaviour only to a certain extent. We should not over do it because we will be crossing over into other peoples private space.
